IIITH Faculty receive ANRF Early Career Research Grant - Three professors at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad have received research grants by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to grow and foster a culture of research and innovation in the country. Crop Darpan App developed by IIITH to help farmers diagnose crop health issues - A research team from IIITH led by Prof. P Krishna Reddy, in collaboration with scientists from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), has launched Version 2 of the Crop Darpan app, an AI-powered mobile tool designed to help farmers instantly diagnose crop health issues. Development of Crop Darpan is part of a joint research initiative between India and Japan under the India-Japan Joint Research Laboratory project. The initiative, titled ‘Data Science-based Farming Support System for Sustainable Crop Production under Climatic Change’, involves multiple institutes, including IITH, IITB, PJTSAU, and the University of Tokyo. Crop Darpan helps farmers detect issues in rice and cotton crops, including pest infestations, bacterial and fungal diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. R&D Showcase 2025 - IIITH’s annual R&D Showcase provided a unique opportunity for viewers to interact with faculty and students to understand their work in more tangible forms through demos, prototypes and presentations in keeping with the institute’s endeavour to promote applied research that benefits society. This year’s Showcase was themed Tech for Sustainable Futures and held on 8 and 9 March. IIITH’s Smart Fix for Hyderabad’s Water Woes - IIITH along with treating water for reuse and collecting rainwater, made use of various smart solutions – in-house sensors and the creation of a digital twin, among others to preserve water and responsibly use it. IIIT Hyderabad campus is spread over 66 acres of land. The campus is located on the main Gachibowli road and has well-connected means of communication, especially bus and metro. IIITH campus is surrounded by various esteemed institutes thus making the locality a perfect place for the student's academic growth. The campus is also in close proximity to the Lingampally railway station. Along with advanced and modern infrastructure, IIIT Hyderabad facilities are technologically advanced and efficient. Some of the IIITH in-campus facilities include a bank extension counter, ATM machine, stationery shop, and laundry services.
IIITH laboratories are well-equipped and air-conditioned. The computer laboratories are allocated batch-wise to the IIITH students with an average PC-to-student ratio of 1:2. All the computers are part of an intranet and are connected to all the IIITH buildings, including the hostels. Research students are provided round-the-clock access to all computational facilities.
IIIT Hyderabad library is a storehouse to a wide collection of reference books, textbooks, technical reports, standards, literature books and CDROMs. The library is managed with fully integrated multi-user library management software. It has an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility as well. IIIT Hyderabad has a digital library as well.
IIITH provided its students with the necessary equipment for sports activities like cricket, volleyball, soccer, basketball, table tennis, badminton, hockey, swimming, etc. Gymnasium facilities are available in the IIITH hostel with a physical trainer. IIIT Hyderabad campus also has a yoga room for students, faculty and staff.
Since IITH is a residential institute, it has a proper accommodation facility for all its students. The UG first-year and second-year students are provided double-third sharing rooms and the third-year students are allotted single rooms. IIITH hostels comprise a total of five hostels. Three hostels are for male students and the remaining are for female students.

IIIT Hyderabad courses comprise of numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses under various specialisation. IIITH courses offered under MSIT programme follows a project-based curriculum. The two specialisations offered under IIIT Hyderabad B.Tech course are computer science and engineering and electronics and communications engineering. Similarly, IIT Hyderabad M.Tech course is offered under four specialisations namely computer science and engineering, computer science and information security, product design and management, and computer-aided structural engineering. The other IIITH courses include PhD, MS by research, M.Phil. in computational linguistics (CL), dual-degree programmes, and PGSSP. The IIIT Hyderabad eligibility criteria vary from course to course. Similarly, the IIIT Hyderabad fees set for the course are different from one another. The IIITH fees for B.Tech single-degree, dual-degree programmes, M.Tech CSE, M.Tech CSIS, M.Tech CASE, and M.Tech PDM is Rs 3,30,000 per annum. The IIIT Hyderabad fees for international students for various courses start from USD 16,000. All the courses offered at IIIT Hyderabad offer semester-based teaching and have a fixed course duration except for the doctoral level courses where there is flexibility in course duration. Apart from the IIITH regular courses, IIITH offer courses for working professionals on a part-time basis as well.
